About

Michela Benaglia (1980) is a Milan-based photographer whose work moves between documentary roots and constructed imagery. With a decade of experience as a designer and art director, she approaches photography as a way to restage everyday life with a precise, graphic eye.

Her long-term documentary projects have resulted in books such as The Village (Grafiche Quirici), From 7 to 7. When Time Stands Still (Pazzini) and Gli Ultrauomini (CTRL Books), and have been shown at festivals including Cortona On The Move, Biennale Images Vevey, PhEST and Les Rencontres d’Arles.

Since 2020 she has been translating this narrative and symbolic sensitivity into commercial still life, beauty and product photography, crafting images where objects are treated like characters and atmospheres are carefully staged.

Driven by research and curiosity, alongside still life photography
she also works with AI to create unexpected visuals and motion.
